On March 16, 2022, an extraordinary event took place. It would have been the same if it had not been preceded by doubly extraordinary events, namely Russia's attack on Ukraine with a severe bombardment of cities and housing infrastructure, as well as accidental and artificial shootings of civilians in the occupied settlements.
This was called by the Russian Federation strikes on military facilities and a special operation to liberate the Russian people from the Ukrainian Nazis. This attack instantly created an abyss between the once fraternal peoples, and Ukraine in the war embarked on the path of 100% Ukrainization. Not only is it not fashionable to be Russian, it is shameful. Russian has become the language of the "orcs", which most Ukrainians do not want to speak, even if they still use it.
All this obscures the events that the whole world has recognized Russia as an outcast, and its leadership - war criminals. The army of liberators became the army of the Nazis. Run nowhere, will have to answer sooner or later. Perhaps without realizing it, but already feeling it, Putin is bombing Ukrainian cities with hatred. Kharkiv, this Russian outpost in eastern Ukraine, became similar to the 1941 Kharkiv in just a few days.
Many eyewitnesses and even Russian soldiers say that Chernihiv, Mykolaiv and Mariupol are worse off than Chechnya, and MEPs who have visited hotspots in Ukraine these days say they have never seen anything worse in their lives. Putin still has the opportunity to pay back in full (turn into ruins - the consonance of the word "ruins" under the name "Ukraine" is used here) for his ruined future by the complete destruction of housing infrastructure in Ukraine. But the future of him and his children was destroyed by Ukrainians. And this is an indisputable historical fact.
The US Senate has unanimously declared Putin a war criminal
On March 16, 2022, the US Senate unanimously passed a resolution condemning the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin as a war criminal. It is very rare for the US Congress to demonstrate such unity on foreign policy issues. But Russia's bloody dictator's attack on Ukraine no longer allows what is happening to protect anyone.
Just a few days after this event, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the US Congress on video. All congressmen greeted standing and applauded. He, a former comedian, managed to surpass the popularity of President-actor Ronald Reagan, he became a symbol of peace. As Zelensky said: the president of the world, that is, the president who wants peace in his country.
Such assessments offend official Moscow
Following the resolution, US President Biden called Putin a war criminal, adding that the Russian president was also a "thug." Blinken, the US secretary of state, repeated the same after the outrage of official Moscow, which threatened to change the structure of relations between Russia and the United States. It seems that despite the sanctions, Moscow has not realized everything that is happening abroad of this Mordor country, as Ukrainians call it.
After Biden, British Health Minister Sajid Javid called "dictator Putin" a "war criminal." The British Crown is expressing its attitude through the actions of Prime Minister Johnson, who even intends to visit Kyiv during its siege by the Russian occupiers in March 2022. President of Ukraine Zelensky, legendary Klitschko boxers, members of the government and even many oligarchs did not leave there.
Despite Scholz's attempt to smooth over the consequences of imposing sanctions on Russia, LDP Klingbail, co-chair of the ruling SPD party, has publicly called Russian President Vladimir Putin a war criminal. He also said he had severed friendly relations with former Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, who recently visited Moscow.
On March 22, 2022, Germany's ruling party announced that normalization with Russia was out of the question. German Finance Minister Christian Lindner said that Ukraine would receive non-refundable assistance from a number of countries under the Marshall Plan 2 to rebuild the infrastructure of destroyed cities.
The International Court of Justice in The Hague
Following the recognition by the US Senate of "violence, war crimes and crimes against humanity" committed by Putin, the verdict of the International Criminal Court in The Hague is expected. A resolution of the US Senate appeals to this legal body with a request for a judicial assessment of the war crimes of the Russian regime.
