The use of prohibited weapons in Ukraine has become, if not a tradition, then the norm. The Russian Armed Forces used the Pinocchio volley fire system to bomb residential areas, literally burning houses to the frame. There were several cases of cluster munitions, the last case was in Pokrovsky, but the shells that hit the private sector did not explode and phosphorus bombs.
March 28, according to data CNN, anti-personnel mines with seismic sensors were found. They are installed on the front line in the Kharkiv region of the RF Armed Forces. The mines were discovered by Ukrainian sappers who were inspecting the area.
HRW: Ukraine does not have the technology to make such anti-personnel mines
HRW experts said that anti-personnel mines with seismic sensors have recently been used by the Russian Armed Forces. Ukraine does not have this type of mine or delivery system, as it is an anti-personnel weapon that works according to seismic sensors for any movement within a radius of 16 meters.
HRW notes that mining such munitions is a difficult and deadly legacy of the war for many years. The organization strongly condemned the use of such weapons.
Anti-personnel mines were banned in 1997, and Russia is not one of the 164 countries that have signed the treaty, HRW notes. Experts note that Russia is apparently deliberately violating international norms.
