The decision to supply the Gepards to Ukraine was made following a meeting of 43 members of the Ukrainian Defence Advisory Group at Ramstein Air Base in Rhineland-Palatinate in southwestern Germany. US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin said that Germany had decided to supply the Gepard systems to Ukraine.
It was also noted that, in addition to the United States, the members of the Advisory Council allocated $5 billion to serve Ukraine. Lloyd Austin noted that this was due to Ukraine's effective defence against the Russian Federation. Ukraine has every chance to win, but the risks are extremely high at first.

On 26 April, the Bundessicherheitsrat published a decision to supply 50 anti-aircraft systems for Ukraine's defence. It is noted that this is exactly what is needed for Ukraine to ensure full air defence. It also added 300,000 rounds of ammunition to be sent to Ukraine, which will be delivered through the Brazilian branch.
