On March 27, 2022, the mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boychenko stated that 90% of housing stock had been destroyed in the city. Many houses are not subject to restoration (approximately 40% damaged), some of them fired from the Pinocchio system, so there is only one frame left from the houses. There are 50% residents left in the city, those who did not leave and were not forcibly deported to the territory of LDPR and Russia.
They blocked the city and destroyed the infrastructure - the method of siege of Goebbels
According to the mayor of Mariupol, everything developed like in a nightmare. In the first week, all electricity supply to the city was destroyed. There were 15 of them. The source of 70% water was later interrupted, then backup. After that they were deprived of gas, and on March 21 - communication.
This was followed by massive shelling by hail, Pinocchio volley fire systems, rocket volleys from the Black Sea and artillery. After an unsuccessful offensive, the city was bombed by aircraft for almost an hour or half an hour, and Russian pilots flew here for work.
People were buried in mass graves
There were so many dead and constant shelling that people could be buried only in mass graves, otherwise, according to the mayor, it did not work. People are buried here everywhere and in the yards too. Thousands of people died.
To date, 60% housing stock has suffered from direct artillery fire, the city in such a state that a complete evacuation is required. Before the war, the city had a population of 540,000, now only half remain. It is impossible to leave, people who tried to do it on their own are taken hostage by the occupiers and demand ransom.
About 30 thousand residents (women and children) of Mariupol were deported to Russia without documents and means of communication.
People are dying of hunger
Mariupol residents often hear from relatives that they suffer from weakness due to malnutrition and dehydration, and have died of starvation. Zelensky said that the city can be unblocked only with aircraft and heavy armored vehicles to save Mariupol from the terrible fate. On the other side of the blockade, people are really dying of hunger, not just from the shelling that covers the city.
